Hola...or should I say Bonjour!
We've started the countdown to our French roadtrip (which is the first of 4 trips I'm planning to put on this blog this year).
We leave home on Friday the 5th June and will be charging down to Ashford as fast as the traffic (and the speed limit - obviously!) will let us. We're heading for the 8pm-ish train through the Channel Tunnel but we're hopeful we'll get there early and will get a place on an earlier train. Once we're through the tunnel we're staying at a hotel in Coquelles - just a mile or so from the train terminal in Calais. It's a Holiday Inn - nothing particularly special but nice enough. We've stayed there a couple of times before and its really convenient - close to the tunnel terminal and really easy access to the autoroute. We'll get a decent breakfast early on Saturday then fill up on diesel, stock up on snacks for the road and will set off on the l-o-n-g journey down France to Bourg d'Oisans.
